LEEDS / FESTIVAL INSPIRED MAKEUP
So guys, summer is coming to an end. Which means festival season is over, too. I can't even begin to explain how upset this makes me! I had to do one more festival post, because festival fashion/makeup is my absolute favourite! You can be so creative and over the top, super colourful and no one will care!
I went to Leeds festival couple weeks ago, which I will be talking about more. First of all I wanted to share a festival inspired makeup look that I created on my gorgeous model, and good friend Issy!
After festival season had ended it made me super sad, but it also inspired me to create one last look whilst I still had the chance! Rather than doing it on myself, because you may get bored of my face hahah, my gorgeous friend Issy volunteered to lend me her face to paint!
I genuinely love doing other peoples makeup, I think it's the satisfaction of seeing the before and after affect.
Festivals and festival inspired makeup are all about having fun and being creative, showing your personality and just letting your hair down! I could have gone completely over board and covered her entire face with gems and glitter, but I quite like a subtle face with a strong colourful eye, and obviously you have to throw some glitter in there right?
I decided to create a half cut crease on the eye, with a winged liner and a pop of colour with the yellow liner outlining the crease. Faux lip rings have been so in this year, so using a bright yellow liner I added a lip ring, and also some little sort of tribal lines on the bridge of the nose just to add that something extra and make the makeup a lot more creative and bold!
I obviously had to include some glitter, I stuck some just to one side of the face around the eye and where the highlight would normally be, so in the sun it would literally pop!
Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade
Eyeshadow: Huda Beauty Textured Rose Gold Palette, Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Thunderstruck
Liner: Kat Von D Ink Liner, NYX Vivid Brights Liner in Halo
Lips: Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Bow n Arrow
A couple weeks ago I went to Leeds festival for the day, I took my mum for her birthday to see Eminem as we both absolutely love him! The sun was shining and everyone was just in the best mood! We also saw Major Lazor, Korn, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, and more!
I am always my happiest when I'm in a field listening to live music and drinking cider, as you can tell from the picture above I was in my element lol.
I just absolutely love the atmosphere at festivals, everyone is so friendly and just having the best time!
My sunglasses are from Forever 21, yellow is my favourite colour for summer at the minute so yellow tinted sunglasses were a must!
Again with my makeup I decided to go for a more subtle look with a smokey cat eye, and some glitter. Very similar to the makeup that I done on Issy, and also the same products used so see above for what I used on my face!
My body chain is from Dorothy Perkins, but it is a few years old. You can get them in most jewellery and online shops though. I love a good body chain, it just adds that little bit extra to any outfit!
I loved my outfit, we were so lucky to have nice weather! Festival season is always so hit and miss, you don't know weather it's going to rain, be cold, be boiling hot with the sun out! Luckily the sun was shining which also just puts everyone in a better mood, who wants to stand around outside when its chucking down with rain? Especially with all this glitter on my face!
Barbie Jacket: Missguided (had to tag the blue one as the white one is currently out of stock)
Bodysuit: Missguided (can't tag as out of stock soz about that!!)
Shorts: InTheStyle
Belt: Boohoo
Eminem was incredible, he played every song that I wanted him to play! This was my second time seeing him live, last time was at Reading in 2013, and he brought out Dido when he performed Stan which was just an amazing moment!
We only went on the Sunday, so we were quite lucky turning up all fresh and energetic where as most other campers where a bit more down and tired as it was the last day. We met so many lovely people, that's another thing I love about festivals you can literally talk to and get on with anyone!
However I would have loved to have gone for the whole weekend, as Muse where headlining one of the other days and I absolutely love them! There where so many other bands I wanted to see, and one of my favourite bands Don Broco done a secret set too which I was gutted about! I am planning on going for the whole weekend next year already though!
I'm so lucky I get to come to gigs with my mum, we're like best friends, we are so close and have so much fun together! I'm so glad she loved her birthday present going to Leeds to see Eminem who she has always wanted to see!
So now festival season has drawn to an end sadly, I have had the most amazing summer! Holidays, festivals, concerts, nights out, amazing friends and family!
However, saying that, Halloween is just around the corner, which is also one of my favourite times of the year! Probably because you get to do over the top makeup again and get to dress up, absolutely love it!I hope everyone had an amazing summer, before we know it Christmas will be here! Until next time, I'll be posting A LOT for Halloween and the winter season. Hope you guys enjoyed this post!
