CONCERT BLUES
I know it's been almost a month since my last post but I've literally been so busy with life! I've been working full time, holiday planning (which I'll be doing a post on after my holiday!) and I've been going to a few gigs! I have such bad post concert blues, you know when you've been to a concert and it was so amazing, but then you can't stop thinking about how good it was for weeks and it makes you sad? yeah. I thought I may as well use this as a blog post, tell you what I thought, what I wore and my makeup etc.
Now I am an avid concert goer, they are my happy place! When I'm at a concert I literally can just block out all of life's problems and just let loose and have fun! I'm very lucky to have seen the amount of bands/artists that I have seen! I've been going to gigs since I was 9 years old and now it's kind of like a hobby! My music taste is very diverse, I could be listening to Little Mix one minute and Slipknot the next. I can be listening to hip hop one minute and heavy metal the next! I've seen Eminem live and I've also seen Iron Maiden live (you get the jist).
I also love music festivals. The atmosphere, the people, the alcohol (and the music obvs). Unfortunately this is a very expensive hobby to have, and I haven't yet been to a music festival in 2017, how am I coping!! I am going to Leeds festival next month to see Eminem again, which I cannot contain my excitement for!! Despite being sad that I wasn't at Download festival again this year, I have been to a couple concerts in the past month, and both are very different and another example of how diverse my music taste really is haha!
The first concert I went to last month was to see one of my all time favourite bands Guns n Roses! Now Guns n Roses first separated in 1994 I think? Which is before I was even born! Luckily I had amazing parents with amazing music taste, and grew up listening to them. I saw Slash perform at Download festival in 2015 thinking it was going to be the closest i'll ever get to seeing them! I also saw Axl Rose perform with ACDC last year.
Late last summer Guns n Roses announced they were back together and I could not believe it! So obviously when they announced a tour I had to go, I was lucky enough to go with my dad and brother as we share the same music taste, and their music means a lot to us and or family. They were incredible, even in their old age they had the crowd going crazy! Definitely a band I would not get tired of seeing.
That brings me to my next gig that I attended which is way at the other end of the music spectrum. I went to see Ed Sheeran, again another artist I have been dying to see for years since before he rose to all this fame! My gorgeous mumma bought me tickets for my birthday and I honestly cried (I'm a little bit in love with Ed). Now I have seen probably hundreds of people live, some I've lost count of, but I can honestly say that Ed Sheeran was THE BEST concert I've been to, which is really saying something.
I think it's the fact that it's just him, a lot of artists have bands behind them or backing singers, but Ed is just one man and his guitar creating all of the music. People have bashed him saying he uses a backing track, when you can clearly see he uses a loop pedal to create each sound and loop them over each other! He's just so so talented and can literally do anything, can you tell I love him? Just a little bit haha.
He's also announced a stadium tour so I'm going to be very poor as I will DEFINITELY be going again, literally insane! Even if you're not a huge fan, his music is so easy to dance to and have a good time!
This is the makeup I had for Ed, now normally I don't do a full face of makeup for festivals or concerts but I needed to impress my boy Ed you know? Joking haha but as we were seated for this concert, I wouldn't sweat it all off in the crowd (yummy). I'm also quite short, so sitting down for a change was nice because I could actually see the stage!
On my face I've used:
Brows: Revolution Brow Pomade
Eyeshadow: Mac In The Flesh
Liner: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
Lips: Mac Lipstick in Peach Stock (couldn't tag)
So again, classic example of my diverse music taste, I saw Guns n Roses and Ed Sheeran within the same week. I think Ed topped it though, the bar has been raised for my next concert! My next one will be Leeds festival at the end of August, which I will hopefully be doing a whole festival look on!

Hope you guys have enjoyed this little concert based post, I will be more consistent with my posts, I just have so much going on in my life (in a good way!) Hopefully this means I'll have more to post about too. Hope you guys enjoy the nice English weather (whatever it is?) and go to lots of gigs and festivals this summer!
Love Xen xo
